Which files carry the most metadata
JPEG and TIFF store the fullest EXIF data, since the format has supported it since the 1990s. HEIC photos from recent iPhones carry similarly detailed metadata. PNG and WEBP only show metadata if the software that created them added it, which many editing tools and social networks do not.
Reading the raw tags
Below the camera summary, every tag the file contains is grouped by section: ifd0 for basic file info, exif for camera settings, gps for location, and iptc for caption and copyright fields some publishing tools add. Numbers, dates and coordinates are shown in a readable format, with the original value underneath for technical use.

Which file types show EXIF data?
JPEG and TIFF carry the most complete EXIF data. HEIC, PNG and WEBP show metadata when the file that made them included it.
Why does my photo show no metadata?
Many apps and social networks strip EXIF data automatically before you download or share a photo, so there may be nothing left to read.
Is the GPS location exact?
Yes, when present. It is the same coordinate the camera or phone recorded, shown to 6 decimal places with a link to view it on a map.
Is my photo uploaded to see this?
No. The metadata is read entirely in your browser, so the photo never leaves your device.
Can I see who owns the copyright to a photo?
If the photographer or their software added an IPTC copyright or caption field, it appears in the raw tag list alongside the camera data.
Why does a screenshot have no EXIF data?
Screenshots are generated by the operating system, not a camera, so there is no exposure or GPS data to record in the first place.
Can I remove the metadata I see here?

Can I view EXIF data on my phone?
