How to spin the wheel

Weighting entries with x3
Add x2, x3 or any number after an entry, like Vacation x3, to make it that many times more likely than a plain entry. A plain entry has a weight of 1, so Vacation x3 is 3 times as likely to be picked as an entry with no number.
For example, a list of Pizza, Tacos x2 and Salad has weights 1, 2 and 1, a total of 4. Tacos gets a 2 in 4 chance, or 50 percent, while Pizza and Salad each get a 1 in 4 chance, or 25 percent.
Tips for a clear, fair wheel
- Keep the list under about 20 entries if the audience needs to read each slice at a glance.
- Turn on remove the winner after each spin for an elimination-style raffle where nobody wins twice.
- Mute the ticking sound for recordings or quiet settings.
- Use the share link to send your exact wheel, including colors and entries, to someone else without them retyping anything.
- Sort the list first if you want to double check for accidental duplicate entries before a big drawing.

Is the wheel really random?
Yes. The winning entry is chosen with your browser's cryptographic random number generator before the animation starts, so every entry has a fair, equal chance unless you weight one with x3 or higher.
How many entries can I add?
As many as you like. Past about 60 entries the wheel stops printing labels on the slices so it stays readable, but every entry still has an equal chance.
How do I make one entry win more often?
Add x2, x3 and so on after it, like Vacation x3, to make that entry three times as likely as a plain one.
Can I share my wheel with someone else?
Yes. Click copy share link and send it. Your entries are stored in the link itself, not on a server, so nothing is uploaded.
Does my list get saved?
Your browser remembers the last list you typed here, on this device only, so it is ready next time you open the page.
What happens if I add more than 500 entries?
Only the first 500 lines are kept. That is well past what stays readable on the wheel anyway, since labels stop printing on individual slices around 60 entries.
Can I use this for a live giveaway or raffle drawing?
Yes. Type or paste every ticket number or name, spin on screen so your audience can watch, and the winner is picked the same way as any other spin, before the animation starts.
Will the wheel avoid picking the same winner twice?
Only if you turn on remove the winner after each spin. With it off, a name stays in the list and can be picked again on a later spin.
