Cropping to exact pixels
Type numbers into the X, Y, width and height fields to set the crop box precisely, useful when a site specifies an exact size like 800 by 800 pixels. The box snaps to those values immediately, and dragging afterward keeps the fields updated.
Circle crop for profile photos
Turning on Circle crop locks the box to a square and clips everything outside a circle when you crop. The result downloads as a PNG, since JPG cannot store the transparent corners a circle crop leaves behind.
Starting a crop over
Every new photo you drop opens with a fresh crop box, centered at 80 percent of the image with no ratio locked, so there is nothing left over from the last photo you cropped. Click Reset at any point to snap back to that same starting box without reloading the file.
Tips for a clean crop
- Rotate first if the photo is sideways. The Rotate 90 degree button works before you drag the crop box.
- Use the arrow keys to nudge the crop box by 1 pixel, or hold Shift for 10 pixel jumps, once the box has focus.

What format does the cropped image download as?
The same format as the original for a normal crop. A circle crop always downloads as PNG, since only PNG can keep the transparent area outside the circle.
Can I move the crop box with the keyboard?
Yes. Click the crop box to focus it, then use the arrow keys to move it 1 pixel at a time, or Shift plus an arrow key for 10 pixels.
Does cropping reduce image quality?
No. Cropping just keeps a rectangular selection of the original pixels, so the kept area looks exactly as sharp as before.
Can I undo a crop after clicking Crop image?
Drop the same photo again to start fresh from the original. Cropping here never changes the file on your device, only the copy you download.
Does the crop box remember my last aspect ratio for the next photo?
