Watermark settings you can control

The color picker accepts any color. Darker colors read clearly even at low opacity, while lighter colors need a higher opacity to show up against a white page.
Watermarking in any language
The text is drawn with your browser's own font rendering and placed on the page as a small image, rather than using the small set of fonts built into the PDF standard. Accented letters, Arabic, Hebrew, Chinese and other scripts your device can display all come through correctly, not just plain English.
Common reasons to add a watermark
- Stamp DRAFT across a document before sending it out for review.
- Mark CONFIDENTIAL or SAMPLE so a file is never mistaken for a final version.
- Add a company name or a short copyright line in a corner of every page.
- Watermark a proposal or contract before it goes out for signature, using a light, angled stamp that stays out of the way of the text.
Skipping a cover page or other pages
Leave the pages field empty to stamp every page. Type page numbers or ranges, like 1-3, 5, to skip a cover page, a blank divider, or any page you want left clean.
Watermark PDF FAQ
Can I make the watermark diagonal?
Yes. Set Rotation to 45 or -45 degrees for the classic diagonal look.
Will the watermark cover my content?
Lower the opacity so your text and images stay readable underneath. 20 to 30 percent works well for most documents.
Can I watermark only some pages?
Yes. Type page numbers or ranges like 1-3, 5, or leave it empty to watermark every page.
Can I watermark several PDFs at once with the same settings?
Yes. Drop in as many files as you like; the same text and style apply to all of them.
What happens if my watermark text is too big for the page?
It shrinks automatically. The stamp is scaled down so it never covers more than about 85 percent of the page's width or height, so long text or a large font size will not run off the edge.
Can I stamp a logo or image instead of text?
No, this tool only places text. To put an image on a page, use Sign PDF's upload option and drag it into place the same way you would a signature.
Can I remove a watermark once it is saved?
No. It becomes part of the page itself, so keep your original, unwatermarked file if you might need a clean copy later.
Does the watermark show up when the PDF is printed?
Yes. It is drawn onto the page content, so it appears both on screen and on a printed copy, not just in a viewer.
