How do I allow microphone access in Chrome or Safari?
Click the lock or camera icon in the address bar, choose Microphone, and set it to Allow, then reload the page. On Windows, also check that Settings, Privacy, Microphone has app access turned on.
Why does it say no signal?
This shows after a few seconds of silence, which usually means the wrong microphone is selected, the mic is muted at the hardware level, or the input level in your operating system is set too low.
What does the clipping warning mean?
Clipping means the signal is hitting the top of what the microphone can record, which distorts the sound. Move back from the mic or lower the input gain in your system sound settings.
Is my recording uploaded anywhere?
No. The waveform, level meter and the 5 second recording all stay on your device and are never sent anywhere.
